Steps to Set up an Oatey Shower Drain:
- Prepare the drain hole by cleaning the drain hole
- Match the shower drain size with the drain hole
- Place the drain body through the hole from the top
- Apply Plumber's Putty around the underside of the drain flange
- Secure with Gasket & Nut
- Tighten the Compression Ring with a wrench
What is the finished height of the vertical drainpipe when I install an Oatey Shower Drain?
After the finished height of the Oatey Linear Shower Drain is determined as described in the installation instructions, the finished vertical drain height will be 3/4" below that.
Where do you put the rubber washer and paper ring when installing an Oatey shower drain?
The large rubber sealing washer will be placed up against the underside of the shower base, and the friction washer will be placed between the rubber sealing washer and locking nut.
Is the flat side of the Oatey Shower Drain gasket facing up or down when it is put over the drainpipe?
The flat side of the gasket should be at the bottom of Oatey linear shower drain body, seating onto the inside lip of the body. The beveled side of the gasket will be facing up.
